Description I took this photo on April 8, 2017 at Pini Hardware in Novato, one of two sites for our annual Tomato Market & Information Exchange. A cold rain fell as we were setting up. Then the sun made a brief appearance—along with a double rainbow. Out came the smiles! The Tomato Market & Information Exchange is more than just a tomato sale. It also offers one of our best opportunities to educate the public about selecting appropriate varieties for growing conditions and about best cultural practices.More than 150 dedicated MMGs helped to seed, nurture, transplant, transport, and sell our beautiful tomato plants. I really like that this photo shows two Master Gardener trainees working alongside three experienced Master Gardener volunteers. The Tomato Market is the first big volunteer event for our trainees. They made their class proud by coming out in force! The double rainbow must have been a good omen; we sold 3,664 of the 3,681 plants that we brought to market!
