Equine Field Day

9 am - 2 PM
The purpose of Equine Field Day is to provide 4-H leaders, members, parents, and horse enthusiasts with engaging educational experiences centered around the care of horses. In this annual educational event, participants will learn from 20-30 minute video presentations led by clinicians and experts in different areas followed by live, interactive Q&A sessions with the facilitators. Information shared supports curriculum and information covered in 4-H Horse projects.
This event is recommended for all for 4-H horse leaders, 4-H members, parents, and horse enthusiasts ages 9 and up. If you are not enrolled in California 4-H, please contact Haille Margarite to participate.

- Registration is on a first come, first served basis with a limited number of spots available.
- Use the "Register" button above to sign up for the event.
- After your payment is confirmed, you will receive a link to the Zoom room with Log in instructions for the day of the event.

Cancellation and Refund Policy
The submission of your registration is a contractual commitment to California 4-H (CA 4-H) of your intent to participate in this event. CA 4-H secures venues, judges, awards, and provides administration based on numbers of registered participants and will incur financial penalties when those numbers change. Written requests to withdraw from this commitment received by March 5, 2021 will receive a 50% refund. No refunds will be issued after this date. Submit your withdrawal request to hamargarite@ucanr.edu.

9:15 am - 10:00 am Workshop #1: Equine Body Work, MC Kidd
This workshop will focus on the horse's body and how to evaluate and approach common physical concerns.
BREAK - take a break from the screen.
Youth from the Equine Planning Team will be leading interactive games (with prizes!) during breaks
10:15 am - 11:00 am Workshop Session #2: Equine Showmanship, Liz Remphrey
This workshop will show members how to begin teaching their horse showmanship and how to tune their experienced showmanship horse.

11:15 am - 12:00 pm Workshop Session #3: PEMF (Pulsed Electromagnetic Field) Therapy, Sara Parker
This workshop will describe how PEMF therapy works and how it can be beneficial to both horses and individuals.

12:15 pm - 1:00 pm Workshop Session #4: Trailer Safety
This workshop will focus on how to prepare your horse and trailer for safe transporting between locations. More information coming soon.

Laura Campbell is the 4-H Horse Leader for Blossom Trail 4-H in Clovis, CA. There will not be a Live Q&A session with this presentation
