Hippology is an activity that can make learning fun for 4-H members by letting them exhibit their knowledge and understanding of equine science and husbandry in a friendly yet competitive setting.

The Virtual Hippology Contest has three (3) different phases:

  • Examination Phase
  • Station Phase
  • Judging Phase

This year's Hippology Contest is being held in partnership with Purdue University. The virtual format and content for this contest was created with Horse Extension Specialists in Indiana, Michigan and Oklahoma.

Purdue University will conduct the contest through the eXtension Learning Management System. Learn more about the Virtual Hippology Contest process.
