Video Guidelines
It is the responsibility of the individual exhibitors to secure all needed equipment and ensure that they are working properly.
Equipment needed
- >Digital video camera, tablet or smartphone with video and audio capability
- Computer, smartphone or tablet with internet connection
Rules for Videos
- Videos must be continuous without any editing. If video is edited it will result in a no score.
- All video must have audio.
- Videos can be filmed after patterns are posted on Friday, Sept. 18 at 5pm.
- Only one rider at a time in each video.
- May be filmed in a pasture, arena or dirt lot. You must set pattern up exactly as it reads.
- Acceptable video formats:
- MP4
- MOV
- MPEG-4
- AVI
At beginning of video, hold up a sign with the following:
- Full name of rider
- Birthdate
- Class number
- Full name of horse
- Horse registration number
- Horse age
Guidelines for filming
Pattern Class
Walk 20 seconds, Trot/Jog 30 seconds, Lope/canter 30 seconds, walk reserves direction repeat prior segment after completion halt and back 5 steps.
- In Showmanship, the camera person represents the eyes and ears of the judge and should be standing and filming from that perspective.
- Other patterns - shoot the video from the best angle.
Rail Class
Walk 20 seconds, Trot/Jog 30 seconds, Lope/canter 30 seconds, walk reserves direction repeat prior segment after completion halt and back 5 steps.
- Ranch Class - camera person announces each gait for the rider.
Video Submissions
- Date Patterns will be posted - TBD
- Video uploads begin at 8am June 21, 2021
- Video uploads close at 5pm June 27, 2021 (please allow for upload time, videos not fully uploaded by 5pm will not count)

Instructions for submitting videos
- Title videos with the following format:
"Contestant Number_FirstNameLastName_Class Number"
Example: 2222_JohnSmith_03 - Acceptable video formats:
- MP4
- MOV
- MPEG-4
- AVI
- Videos must be continuous, with sound, and without any editing. If video is edited it will result in a no score.
- Please upload your video to the Google Drive folder. NOTE: You will have to login to Google in order to upload.
- Uploaded videos will be moved out of the folder regularly for security purposes.
