4-H Equine Volunteers

The California 4-H Statewide Equine Program exists to provide high-quality equine events where 4-H members have opportunities to apply their growing knowledge and skills of horses in a fun, safe, and supportive environment.

Meeting this goal involves a team of youth and adult volunteers who have a passion for working with horses, youth, and continuing to grow the 4-H equine program.  This team of people works alongside of CA 4-H Program Staff to make statewide equine events happen, make them fun, and make them meaningful.

Equine Statewide Planning Team

Accepting Applications through December 15, 2021

Hey there horse enthusiasts! Do you have a passion for the 4-H Equine program and want to give back to the community by sharing your gifts and experience with others? The California 4-H Equine Program is looking for Adult Volunteers and Youth Members to lead specific state-level Equine events and would like you to consider joining the Equine Statewide Planning Team.

The Equine Statewide Planning Team is a group of volunteers and youth members who want to use/develop their event planning skills by leading a team in planning and operating one of our state equine events. Below is a list of current Planning Team positions that we are still recruiting for:

  • Horse Classic (Adult Volunteer)
  • Hippology Contest (Youth Member)
  • Equine Public Speaking Contest (Adult Volunteer & Youth Member)
  • Event Marketing (Adult Volunteer)

So, if you are a youth members (ages 14 and up) or an adult volunteers that is ready to get off the fence, Quit stalling! Apply to the Equine Statewide Planning Team by December 15, 2021 and make a difference in the 4-H Equine community today!

Equine Event Team

Do you have a desire to help grow the 4-H Equine program but are trying to tame a night-MARE schedule? Do you have thoughts and ideas that could improve the way the 4-H statewide equine events operate? Then we have the perfect opportunity for you!

The Equine Event Team is specifically designed for youth members and adult volunteers who want to use their passion for horses to help plan one of our state equine events. As a member of the Equine Event Team, you would be tasked with assisting in planning and operating the MANE event for your chosen activity. Active and ongoing recruitment of youth members and adult volunteers for all 2021-2022 state equine event areas is currently open including the Hippology Contest, Public Speaking Contest, Presentation Day, Equine Field Day Event, and Horse Classic. Success of these events is riding on your volunteer support!
