Pre-Conference Day Trip
Whitewater Rafting Trip Saturday, May 17, 2014
Enjoy a day-long whitewater rafting trip in the heart of Gold County!
Melting snow from the High Sierras creates this whitewater run on the South Fork of the American River in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada near Coloma on Highway 49, one hour east of Sacramento. The water is clear and cool; the air is clean and warm–-the perfect setting for a fun, exciting adventure. The river environment is home to a multitude of fish, birds, and other wildlife. The scenery alternates between rolling green and golden hills and long rocky gorges with many oaks and pines along the riverbank.
The South Fork has many whitewater rapids perfect for learning and practicing the paddle skills of whitewater rafting. Adventure Connection has over 25 years of experience on the three forks of the American River. Their professional guide will instruct and set up for each approaching rapid, so you will paddle hard and then sit back to laugh and relax with each success. This eleven-mile run is fun and exciting, just perfect for a beginning and intermediate whitewater experience! They will also hold a pre-trip discussion on the natural resource issues that come into play with the land and water resources in the area.
The $129 per person fee includes transportation to and from the hotel, lunch and everything you will need for the rafting trip.
Please contact Adventure Connection at the link above and book your rafting trip directly with them. Be sure to mention that you are with the ANREP conference and want to participate in the South Fork of the American River Trip.
