General Increase 2022

General Salary Increase Program for policy-covered staff July 2022


Eligible employees will receive a 4.5% increase to base pay

  • Effective June 26th (BW) and July 1st (MO)

  • Pay Dates July 20th (BW) and August 1st (MO)

Eligible Employees:

  1. Non-represented employees in career appointments who:
  • Were hired on or before January 3, 2022 and who have successfully completed their probationary period as indicated by the employee's status in payroll as of July 1, 2022.

  • Are on active pay status as of the effective date (June 26, 2022 bi-weekly and July 1, 2022 for monthly paid employees) AND on active pay status on the payout date (July 20, 2022 for biweekly paid staff and August 1, 2022 for monthly paid staff.)

  • If on unpaid approved leave status, the increase will be implemented upon return to active pay status.

  1. Contract employees whose contracts specifically indicate that they are eligible to participate in the campus salary program.

  2. Employees who transferred from another University of California location who are otherwise eligible will be eligible at UC ANR, provided that there was no break in service between their appointments.

  3. Individuals who are at or near the range maximum will be eligible for an increase up to the range maximum.

Ineligible Employees:

  1. Employees rated as less than meets expectations on their most recent performance evaluation are not eligible for the salary increase.

  2. Probationary employees as of July 3, 2022

  3. Employees hired after January 3, 2022

  4. For employees in positions covered under collective bargaining agreements, their compensation is determined by the contract terms in their respective labor agreements.

  5. Those employed in limited, per diem, or casual/restricted appointment types and anyone covered by Academic Personnel Policies.

  6. Employees who separate from the University on or before the pay-out date.
