CitrusSprayEx

CitrusSprayEx is an expert system that was developed between 2009 and 2011 as part of Dr. Peter Ako Larbi’s PhD dissertation at the University of Florida entitled “Development of a Model to Predict Spray Deposition in Air-Carrier Sprayer Applications”. An expert system is a computer program that simulates the judgment of an individual or organization possessing expert knowledge and experience in a particular field. The purpose of this expert system is to assist growers and applicators with airblast sprayer decision making.

CitrusSprayEx is divided into two parts: 1) Spray Planning – which assists a user with sprayer calibration procedure/calculations and spray application timing decisions; and 2) Spray Evaluation – which assists a user with actual application decisions/evaluation by simulating a spray deposition model to predict the outcomes of a spray application based on user inputs.
