'Ducher'

Aka ‘Bengale Ducher’
Old, China, white, repeat flowering

This knee-high plant bears its blooms either singly or in clusters. The white outer petals are large, while the inner ones are smaller and folded. The 4-inch flowers are flat on very short stems and tend to nod. One critic has praised this white rose as an excellent bedding plant because it drops its white flowers when it has finished blooming. The slender branches are smooth with lots of long, red prickles and the glossy foliage is light green, which adds further charm to this rose. It makes an ideal container plant. Jean-Claude Ducher (1820-74) was one of the most esteemed hybridizers during the golden age of rose production in Lyon, France.
