The research program is focused on herd health problems affecting beef cattle in California including but not limited to infectious diseases, nutrition, or antimicrobial stewardship. California is a large state with unique production systems and ecological landscapes. It has one of the most progressive stewardship programs for use of antimicrobial drugs in livestock. With its size and diversity come unique challenges with respect to cattle health and well-being. Our research program strives to help address some of these challenges.
