Adult Program
EFNEP is designed to assist audiences with limited resources to acquire knowledge, skills, and changed behavior necessary for nutritionally sound diets. Adults learn how to make food choices to improve the nutritional quality of the meals they serve their families.
Participants learn to:
- Plan nutritious meals
- Increase physical activity
- Stretch their food dollar
- Practice safe food handling
- Prevent obesity through healthy lifestyles
Eating Smart Being Active is delivered as a series of 8 lessons, over several weeks, by nutrition educators. Our EFNEP educators understand the needs of Fresno residents; many are bilingual (Spanish, Hmong, Lao, Thai, English). Our hands-on, learn-by-doing approach allows families to gain practical skills to make healther food choices while stretching their food budget. See EFNEP Success Stories.
