AgrAbility increases the likelihood that individuals with disabilities and their families engaged in production agriculture become more successful and enhanced quality of life for people with disabilities in agriculture. The program supports cooperative projects in which State Cooperative Extension Services subcontract to private, non-profit disability organizations. Measures of success may include improvements in customers' financial stability or access to life activities and the capacity of states and regions to deliver services this population requires in a timely and satisfying manner. 2) USDA NIFA - Beginning Farmer and Rancher Development Program

This program is designed to develop and offer education, training, outreach and mentoring programs to enhance the sustainability of the next generation of farmers. The reasons for the renewed interest in beginning farmer and rancher programs are: the rising average age of U.S. farmers, the 8% projected decrease in the number of farmers and ranchers between 2008 and 2018, and the growing recognition that new programs are needed to address the needs of the next generation of beginning farmers and ranchers.
