The California Beef Council is excited to invite you to a Stockmanship & Stewardship event, taking place on Saturday, October 19th, in Fresno, CA. This day-long program is a must-attend for ranchers committed to improving their operations through low-stress cattle handling, biosecurity practices, and the latest in beef quality assurance (BQA).

Here’s a quick look at the agenda:

  • 8:15 AM: Effective Stockmanship & Cattle Handling – A demonstration by Curt Pate and Dr. Ron Gill, focused on improving your cattle handling techniques.
  • 10:00 AM: Chute-side BQA with Dr. Ron Gill – Learn the best practices for handling cattle at the chute, ensuring both safety and quality.
  • 11:00 AM: Biosecurity – Hear from experts at Neogen and UC Davis on improving biosecurity practices on the ranch
  • 1:00 PM: Preharvest Management & CA Trailer Laws – Maximize carcass quality with practical insights for your ranch.
  • 1:45 PM: The Ranch Dog's Role in Reducing Stress – Discover how your working dog can improve cattle handling and reduce stress.

And there’s more! You'll also have the chance to complete BQA training and testing during the event to get BQA certified. Those who get BQA certified will be entered to win a cattle vaccine cooler from CattleVac Box!
