The Gardening Education Center (GEC) is a dedicated growing space where we model and educate the public on environmentally sound horticulture techniques and water-wise gardening practices; it includes greenhouse facilities and demonstration gardens. Additionally, the GEC is used to provide hands-on training opportunities for Master Gardeners, increase our plant-science expertise with Continuing Education opportunities, and strengthen our own MG chapter.

Free, public classes are periodically hosted at the GEC. See the Events Calendar for upcoming offerings.

Construction of the GEC began in December 2017 with initial funding provided by the Bella Charitable Foundation and the UC Master Gardeners. The 5,160 sq. ft. plot was fenced, electrical and irrigation conduit installed and three greenhouses each about 120 sq. ft. in area were constructed. Later a large shed and three wooden raised beds were added. The Ribbon-Cutting Celebration took place on May 2, 2018 in conjunction with the Graduation Ceremony for the Master Gardener Class of 2018.
