Prudent Winter Pruning

Prudent winter pruning is the best way to invigorate fruit trees in the home garden. We will demonstrate pruning techniques outside, weather permitting.
In this overview/beginning class you will learn how to:
- Prune deciduous fruit trees, grapes, cane berries and roses,
- Maximize tree health and fruit production,
- Identify dead, damaged and dying wood
Co-Presenter UC Master Gardener Lisa Putnam:Lisa has a BS in Agricultural Economics from UC Davis. She currently operates a sustainable organic farm in Woodside. She is a UC Master Gardener and a Master Composter too.
Co-Presenter UC Master Gardener Kathleen Putnam: Kathleen is a professional organic vegetable gardener serving the Mid-Peninsula. She is an International Society of Arboricultural Certified Arborist and has a degree in Environmental Horticulture from City College of San Francisco.
