The Program: Got a green monster in your garden? Tired of watering and mowing? Join us and learn why lawns are not eco-friendly. This program includes a short video showing the best method to easily eliminate a lawn, and how to determine the best use for the space. We will discuss the latest in walkable green plants, plus a host of other possibilities sure to broaden your definition of “lawn alternatives.”

The Speaker: Marie Narlock has been a UC Marin Master Gardener since 2004. She studied landscape design through the UC Berkeley Extension and Merritt College, and completed sustainable landscape classes at Sonoma State. She writes articles for the Marin IJ and is the editor of the Leaflet, the UC Marin Master Gardener e-newsletter. Marie has designed four demonstration gardens for the Marin County fair and co-designed and manages the Marin Ventures garden serving developmentally disabled adults.
