There are two residential, recycled water pick-up programs in Marin County. The filling station in San Rafael is located at Armory Drive, across from the Marin County Civic Center. It is open to the public on most Fridays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Residents need to fill out an application and provide proof of residency.
Sealable containers from 5 gallons to 300 gallons are allowed. Remember, one gallon of water weighs about 8 pounds. See https://www.marinwater.org/recycledwaterfillingstation for details.
The North Marin Water District also has a recycled water filling station. The station is located on Wood Hollow Road at Meadow Crest Road in Novato. Novato residents need to file for a permit and pay the $75 fee. Any amount of water can be taken from 35 gallons to 300 gallons. Hours of operation are Fridays, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. See the website NMWD.com for details.
