Pesticide Residue in Nectar & Pollen
We treated 4 different species of ornamental annuals and perennials with neonicotinoid pesticides available on the market, then sampled the nectar and pollen repeatedly over time to measure the level of pesticide residue that remained. All experimental plants were either grown in greenhouses or enclosed in paper bags to prevent pollinator access while the trials were conducted.
Many of our results are still under analysis at the lab. Check back soon!
