This course is based on a training series developed by members of the California 4-H Policy Advisory Committee 2005-2007. Information and materials in this course are informed by the Department of Health and Human Services, Washington, DC, California Attorney General’s Office, The Sacramento Child Abuse and Prevention Council, Prevent Child Abuse California, RAND California Child Abuse Statistics by County, Department of Social Services for the State of California. Additional insight was provided by a review of policies from the Boy Scouts of America, Catholic Diocese of San Bernardino, Girls Scouts of America, and the Big Brother, Big Sister, North Dakota and Nevada’s Cooperative Extensions 4-H Youth Development Programs along with the experiences of California 4-H volunteers and staff.
