Earlier this year National 4-H held a conference “True Leaders in Equity Institute,“ for which 4-H members had to apply to attend. Mariah Canton applied with her equity project and was elected. Her equity project is to bring 4-H to Stanislaus County's refugee community. Mariah was 1 of 26 groups that was chosen to attend the institute in order to help bring equity to 4-H. She is partnering with the county office and her home club, Turlock Eagles, to meet her goals set by National 4-H. As part of her project she has partnered with International Rescue Committee (IRC). To kick off her equity project she is inviting you all to be apart of her Work Donation Drive to help the incoming working adults. For more information please see attached flier! Drive stared 9/16 and ENDS 12/06/2019!

Helping out and donating to the drive counts towards each club’s community service learning projects!!!

Introduction

4h_mark2
4-H is an informal educational program that allows youth to learn by doing. The 4-H community club program offers a wide variety of activities for youth. Youth join a club, take part in monthly meetings run by members and explore their individual interests through projects. Each club has at least one Community Club Leader who is an adult volunteer. Project meetings are set and run by additional adult volunteers. Members can also participate in a number of county, regional, and state-wide 4-H events.
