The main responsibilities of the Laboratory Assistants are to set up, maintain, evaluate, and analyze field and lab research projects; prepare samples or specimens for examination, and processing. Summarize and minimally analyze research data; and assist in the assembly, testing and operation of complex research instruments and equipment.
Technical assignments at this level typically include duties such as: preparing samples for commercial laboratory analyses, preparing reagents and media using basic ingredients, processing excrement from bovine, preparing components required for sample collection and processing, and preparing biological and soil for examination by professional and/or academic personnel. It will include processing and sectioning plant tissues, grinding plant tissues and drying for laboratory analyses, measuring soil greenhouse gas emissions, and processing complex greenhouse gas data for quality control and assurance.
This position is a career appointment that is 100% fixed.
Pay Scale: $22.11/hour to 23.87/hour
