Cultural Information

Arbutus 'Marina' (Marina arbutus), evergreen tree, 25-40 feet tall and 25-30 feet wide, with leathery, dark green leaves, colorful peeling bark, clusters of rose pink, urn-shaped flowers in spring, and red, berrylike fruit in fall.  Believed to be either a selection of A. x andrachnoides, a naturally occurring hybrid of A. unedo and A. andrachne, or a hybrid between A. x andrachnoides and A. canariensis. Year-round shedding of bark, leaves, flowers, and fruit can be messy. Sun to light shade or afternoon shade, fast drainage, good air circulation. Sunset: 8-9,14-24
