Clery Act

Clery Act Overview

The Clery Act is a federal law (20 U.S.C. 1092 (f)) that requires US colleges and universities to disclose information about particular crimes on and around their campuses and safety related policies. The goal of the Clery Act is to ensure students, prospective students, parents and employees have access to accurate information about crimes committed on campus and campus security procedures. The act requires colleges and universities to maintain records of certain crime statistics and to make an Annual Security Report available to students and the public.

How Clery Act is implemented at UC ANR

Some UC ANR facilities are considered "non-Campus facilities" that are visited by students from one or more of the ten UC campuses. To provide relevant information, UC ANR coordinates reporting with UC campus Clery Coordinators for possible inclusion in a campus' Annual Security Report.
