Staff Advisor to the Regents and Staff Advisor-designate visit UC ANR
The Staff Advisor to the Regents, LaWana Richmond, and the Staff Advisor-designate, Jason Valdry, spent a day at the UC ANR building in Davis April 20 to reach out to UC ANR's early-career professionals, take questions at an all-staff meeting and meet with UC ANR leadership.

The Staff Advisors are appointed by the UC President in consultation with the Chair of the Board of Regents. Serving as non-voting advisors to designated Regents' committees, the Staff Advisors have direct input into the Regents' deliberations and decisions.
Richmond is a senior business analyst at UC San Diego; Valdry is director of technology in the Clair Trevor School of the Arts at UC Irvine. Both were active in their campus staff assemblies and served on the Council of UC Staff Assemblies (CUCSA) before being named Staff Advisors to the Regents.
During their presentation at the all-staff meeting, the advisors encouraged UC ANR staff to become involved in the UC ANR Staff Assembly. All staff are automatically members of UC Staff Assembly - whether they are county-paid, limited time, full time, represented or not. Although a relatively new organization, UC ANR Staff Assembly has successfully awarded scholarships to staff and established a network of Staff Assembly Ambassadors throughout the state.More information on the UC ANR Staff Assembly is available on its website.
