ANR to close Dec. 29-31 for winter curtailment

Similar to previous years, ANR units – including, Research and Extension Centers, UCCE county offices and the Second Street Building in Davis – will be closed from Dec. 24, 2020, through Jan. 1, 2021, except for essential services. ANR offices will reopen on Monday, Jan. 4, 2021. The curtailment (closure) schedule will be the same for ANR employees at UCOP.

Winter closure schedule:
Dec. 24, 2020 – Holiday
Dec. 25, 2020 – Holiday
Dec. 28, 2020 – Curtailment (closure)
Dec. 29, 2020 – Curtailment (closure)
Dec. 30, 2020 – Curtailment (closure)
Dec. 31, 2020 – Holiday
Jan. 1, 2021 – Holiday

During the curtailment (closure) days above, employees will be given the option of using accrued vacation, compensatory time off (CTO), or leave without pay for the curtailment days. In the event an employee has not accumulated a sufficient amount of vacation time before December to cover the three days, arrangements can be made to allow those individuals to borrow against future vacation time.

Some UCCE County Offices and Research and Extension Centers may need to adjust the closure schedule to accommodate local needs; this is at the discretion of the director and approval by ANR leadership. If you have a question about your local office schedule, please contact your director.

As you may have seen, UC Systemwide has been discussing a separate Curtailment Plan to be implemented at a later date. As soon as we receive further direction from UCOP, we will confirm ANR's implementation strategies. Please contact for additional information.

I read this on the UC Davis News page. It includes three additional curtailment days.
"Flexibility Added to December Curtailment
By Dateline Staff on November 24, 2020 in University
The Davis campus has revised its December curtailment program to allow “soft closures,” whereby departments and units would be closed to the public, and most staff members could choose between taking time off or working onsite or remotely.
The six curtailment days are Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, Dec. 21-23 and Dec. 28-30. Each of those weeks also includes two university holidays: Thursday and Friday, Dec. 24-25 and Dec. 31-Jan. 1."
Is this for DAVIS campus students and staff only or does it include all staff that are associated with DAVIS as well? Everything else I see only has Christmas Eve to New Years day. Thanks!!

Hi Jenel,
John Fox, HR director, says, "The UC Davis extended curtailment program only applies to UC Davis employees.
FYI, there are no longer any ANR employees paid through UC Davis Payroll/Business Unit. They’ve all been transitioned into the ANR Business Unit in UCPath."
