118 Urban Landscape Entomology Specialist
- Urban Landscape Entomology Specialist (docx), uploaded 05/10/2012 by Mary Delany
This proposal has been formally submitted for the 2012 cycle.
Exotic insect pests invade urban landscapes in increasing numbers each year. These insects are often a threat to agriculture. Examples are Light brown Apple Moth, Spotted Winged Drosphila, and Asian Citrus Psyllid, as well as Med Fly etc. The interface of landscapes and urban environments with Agriculture set up ideal situations to compromise our productivity. We need this position and probably five more just like it. I can think of several research projects that should have been started already. The same for plant pathology.
