Presentations & Workshops

Workshops, Presentations, and Programs

The UC Master Gardeners of Butte County are a group of UC-trained volunteers whose purpose is to extend research-based knowledge and information on home horticulture, pest management, and sustainable landscape practices to the residents of our community. In order to accomplish this goal, public education is provided to members of our community in a number of ways:

Workshops and Presentations

Master Gardeners offer workshops and presentations on a wide variety of topics related to gardening, pests, drought, and sustainable practices at our Demonstration Garden at Patrick Ranch; through Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at Chico State; at garden clubs and at other community events. Workshops and presentations are led by Master Gardeners and/or local experts.

Children’s Programs

Programs are available throughout the year at the Patrick Ranch Museum and in the schools. These programs are tailored for specific age groups and are often developed to meet specific instructional criteria.

School Gardens

A newly emerging area for Master Gardeners is to assist school staff in planning and developing on-site gardens. Schedule a Workshop or Presentation
