Biography

Scott Mautte works in the CA 4-H State Office as the Program Representative for Volunteer Development.  In his role, he creates both in person and online tools to add value to both the personal and professional experiences of 4-H staff, volunteers and youth.  In addition he oversees support requests for the 4-H Online Record Book, a 21st Century tool for 4-H members to complete their 4-H record books.

He is a committed ally and agent of youth development which has led to a career of working with young people spanning over 20 years. His commitment to youth development came to birth out of his own struggle with navigating through the adolescent years and eventually being connected to people who helped him make the successfully transition into adulthood.

His insane love for young people and commitment to providing opportunities for them to express themselves in meaningful ways in the world TODAY has allowed him to interact and work in a number of broad and diverse settings including faith-based organizations, community-based organizations and local government agencies spanning from the east coast to the west coast.

In addition to his work directly with youth, Scott has a deep passion for supporting and training youth workers and volunteers. For most of Scott’s career he has developed and provided supportive environments for volunteers to thrive and succeed.

In his spare time Scott likes to do some of the following things:

  • Hang out with his two beautiful daughters—Jenna and Kylie.
  • Make coffee
  • Backpacking/hiking
  • Drink coffee
  • Volunteering in my community (while drinking coffee)
  • Writing (while thinking about coffee)

Of all the titles that he has held, the one that is dearest to him is “daddy”.
