Gardens We Are Working With / Have Worked With

East County   

  • Healthy Hearts Farm, Pittsburg

    Healthy Hearts Farm is a program of the non-profit Healthy Hearts. Currently in development, the garden will allow neighborhood residents to grow their own food.

  • Wollam House, Pittsburg

    Wollam House is a residential substance abuse treatment facility for adult women in Contra Costa County.  Residents of the facility use the garden.

Central County

  • Adaptive Learning Center, Concord

    The Adaptive Learning Center, a non-profit dedicated to providing community for adults with neurodevelopmental disabilities and Autism Spectrum Disorders, provides a community garden that helps support its clients' personal growth.

  • Concord Library, Concord

    The Concord Library is a public library facility. Library managers converted an underused patio off the Children’s Room into a container garden for fresh vegetables. Educational programs accompany the growing seasons.

  • Crestwood Mental Health Facility, Pleasant Hill

    Crestwood is a provider of mental health services. Program managers converted an underused patio into a container garden. Residents and clients of the facility use the garden.

  • Discovery House, Martinez

    Discovery House is a residential substance abuse treatment facility for adult men in Contra Costa County.  Residents of the facility use the garden.

  • Gehringer Community Garden, Concord

    The garden serves residents of Concord and surrounding communities. Gardeners are individually assigned in-ground plots. Membership and an annual fee are required.

  • La Casa Ujima, Martinez

    La Casa Ujima is a residential substance abuse treatment facility for adult women in Contra Costa County.  Residents of the facility use the garden.

  • Lafayette Community Garden, Lafayette

    The garden serves residents of Lafayette and surrounding communities. Gardeners collectively work raised beds. Membership and an annual fee are required.

  • Luxi House, Concord

    Luxi House offers a residential program to young pregnant women between the ages of 18 and 20. Produce from the garden will be used by the residents.

  • Newell Guest House, Pleasant Hill

    Newell Guest House is a residential treatment facility for adult men with psychiatric disabilities. Staff and residents work the garden, which includes raised beds and in-ground planting.

  • Veterans Administration Hospital, Martinez

    Contra Costa Master Gardeners assist with outpatient gardening skills education.

West County

  • Bay Area Rescue Mission, Richmond

    The Bay Area Rescue Mission provides food, shelter and care for the community's poor, hungry and homeless men, women and children. Staff and residents work the in-ground garden and raised beds.

  • Brickyard Landing Gardens, Point Richmond

    Brickyard Landing is a condominium complex. Garden members live on site and individually work raised beds.

  • Hana Gardens, El Cerrito

    Hana House is an Eden Housing development that provides rental homes for lower income seniors. Raised bed planters are individually worked by residents.

  • Miraflores Senior Apartments, Richmond

    Mira Flores is an Eden Housing development that provides rental homes for lower income seniors. Raised bed planters are individually worked by residents.

  • West County Wastewater District, Richmond

    This is a workplace garden, tended and managed by employees of the West County Wastewater District.
