Organic: Processed Foods & Cosmetic Products
Regulated by California Department of Public Health Organic Food Processors Program
Registration:
- Organic Processed Product Registration (OPPR) is required for all entities that handle and/or make processed food or cosmetics that are sold as organic.
- OPPR application.
- Note: Processed Food Registration is required for processors before OPPR can be issued.
Certification:
- If gross sales of organic product exceeds $5,000 or if the business wants to use the USDA Organic seal, they must obtain organic certification from an Accredited Certifier Operating in California.
