Today we released the latest version of Collaborative Tools, dubbed three point oh!
Collaborative Tools is quickly becoming a vital aspect of communication within ANR. With recent cutbacks in travel, meeting online is going to be the Modus operandi rather than the techie alternative.
Some of the new features include:
- Improved file management
- Bulk upload of documents
- Ability to break out discussions into categories
- Easy roster creation and management
- Full-text searching of messages
- Message archiving
- Redesigned interface
- Avatars (user photos) from ANR Directory and Master Gardener VMS
- Tacks to "stick" messages at the top of the discussion list
- And more!
Although we only now have released this new version, we are already looking to the future! Two features we anticipate incorporating into Collaborative Tools are integration with Adobe Connect and a project management system.
The integration with Adobe Connect would allow Collaborative Tools groups to instantly create online meetings from the discussion board. The project management system would give users the ability to track progress on projects online at anytime.
