New and Returning Youth Enrollment

4-H is the largest youth development program in the nation.

 

The Colusa County 4-H Youth Development program is designed to provide a wide variety of enrichment activities with the ultimate goal of giving youth the skills they need to thrive and succeed throughout their lives.

The focus of all California 4-H programs is positive youth development through activities in STEM, healthy living, civic engagement, and leadership. All 4-H programs are accessible and open to all youth. 

 

Primary Members - 4-H Ages* 5 to 8

Youth Members - 4-H Ages* 9 to 18

* Your "4-H Age" is your age by December 31 of the program year you are enrolled in.

4-H is open for members to join at anytime throughout the year. Most projects start in September and end in June. It is best to join at the beginning of the program year to receive the most amount of project instruction.  

 Members wanting to show livestock at the Colusa County Fair must have their enrollment complete and approved by October 1st

 

New Members

Step 1: Find a Club

Colusa County has 5 charted 4-H Clubs throughout the county which include, Arbuckle, Colusa Community, Maxwell, Princeton, and Stonyford. You will need to select at least (1) club in order to enroll. 

Step 2: Contact the Community Club Leader

Each club has a designated Community Club Leader that organizes and runs the club. Contact the Community Club Leader for the club you are interested in joining, they will be able to give you more details about their meetings and project offerings. The 4-H Office can support you in contacting the Community Club Leader. 

Step 3: Find a Project

Each club offers various projects, there is no limit as to how many projects you can enroll in, however you must select at least (1) project to complete the enrollment. Keep in mind each project requires different commitments, you will be able to select which projects interest you when enrolling.

Step 4: Register through ZSuite

Click this link to access ZSuite. Complete the process to create a profile. Members are grouped by Family, so you can add all youth family members who want to join 4-H. If you are under 18, please have a parent or guardian enter the information. In order for your online enrollment to be complete and be approved you must:

a.  Review and acknowledge all forms on the Additional Information tab                           (including Waiver of Liability).

b.  Complete the Medical Release and Health History form.    

New member-how to enroll in ZSuite

*For Spanish: The ZSuite system is only in English. Please fill in the Spanish Youth Enrollment Packet (5.31.23) fillable and turn it in to your club leader or county staff for them to enter it into 4hOnline for you. Please keep a copy of the paper forms for your records. You will also have to check back with your county 4-H Program Representative for your membership status.

Step 5: Submit Program Fees

Submit your enrollment fees to your club leader at your next club meeting. (Checks and money orders made payable to your club).  Enrollment fees are $75.00 for the 2024-2025 Program Year.  Colusa Community club charges an additional $5.00 for each Member, in lieu of hosting a fundraising event.

Step 6: Become an approved member

The county 4-H program office staff will review the completed enrollment online. Once the office receives your fees from your Club Leader, you will receive an email sent to your Family email account (as listed in ZSuite profile) to confirm your enrollment status as Active. If you filled out a paper enrollment form, you will need to check with your county 4-H Program Representative for your membership status.

Once your membership is active, you can start participating in 4-H events and activities!

Returning Members

All current 4-H members must re-enroll by December 31st each year.

If you are a current 4-H member under 18, your parent or guardian can renew your membership in ZSuite. See the ZSuite MemberVolunteer Enrollment Tip-sheet 6.12.23 .
