CV Friendly Landscape Principles

To the left you will find each of the Central Valley Friendly Landscape Principles. A brief overview of each principle is presented with additional links and suggested resources to guide you if you would like to learn more.

In order to qualify for Central Valley Friendly Landscape Award recognition, your entire garden must demonstrate all of the Required Practices and must meet a minimum number of practices in each section of the Landscape Principles. You may want to print out our checklist of Landscape Principles to asses your current practices and discover opportunities for change.

If you do not meet the requirements to apply for the award (i.e. you live outside of the Fresno/Clovis Metropolitan Area), you can still use the information in the checklist and on this website to alter your landscape to save you water, money, time, and create a healthier environment for your family and community.
