Almond Rootstocks
The selection of an appropriate almond rootstock is very important to establish a successful orchard. There is no single best rootstock. A careful analysis of the traits of those available should be done with regard to the unique soil, pest, and weather conditions of the orchard site. Nemaguard has been the most widely planted rootstock in California almond orchards for many years. However, a variety of rootstocks are available from numerous breeding programs around the world. This section provides information on the characteristics of these stocks.
