Annual Reports 2005 Chemical Thinning in Cling Peach in 2005
Thinning agents were tested for effectiveness in chemical thinning of peach, in a pilot study: soybean oil + Latron B-1956,lime sulfur + fish oil, and ATS + Activator 90. Submitted to the California Cling Peach Board for 2005.
Annual Reports 2005 Effects of Fall Applications of Urea and Zinc Sulfate to 'Bing' Sweet Cherry Spring Budbreak, 2005
A single treatment of chemical defoliants/nutrients advanced bloom, compared to controls and hand defoliation. Results are discussed as they relate to the Dynamic model for calculating chill accumulation. Submitted to the California Cherry Advisory Board for 2005.
Annual Reports 2005 Effects of Plant Growth Regulators on Stem Loss, Rain Cracking and Other Fruit Quality Indices in 'Bing' Sweet Cherry, 2005
Evaluation of plant growth regulators: CPPU, MaxCelJ, CalexinJ, 1-MCP and LPE, on fruit quality, stem retention and rain-induced cracking in a commercial orchard in San Joaquin County. Submitted to California Cherry Advisory Board for 2005.
Annual Reports 2005 Evaluation of Pre-harvest Spray Treatments on Rain-Induced Cracking of 'Bing' Sweet Cherry
Evaluation of effect of Bluestim and Rainguard treatments on rain-induced cracking and postharvest storage. Submitted to the California Cherry Advisory Board for 2005.
Annual Reports 2005 Improving Fruit Firmness And Reducing Fruit Drop in Cling Peach, Final Report
Test of the efficacy of plant growth regulators lysophoshatidylethanolamine and CPPU; several gauges used to measure treament effects on firmness were evaluated. Submitted to the California Cling Peach Board for 2005.
Annual Reports 2005 Use of the Dynamic Model and Application of Rest Breaking Agents in California Prune Production, 2005
Evaluation of dormant oil and CAN17 treatments on bud break and bloom progression in a commercial orchard, and use of the Dynamic Model to time the chill accumulation onset. Submitted to the Dried Plum Advisory Board of California for 2005.
Annual Reports 2005 Use of the Dynamic Model and Chill Portions to Time Chemical Rest-Breaking Treatments in 'Bing' Sweet Cherry, 2005
Evaluation of rest-breaking treatments with timing based on the Dynamic Model and the chill hour model. Calculation of the amount of chilling accumulated with several models. Submitted to the California Cherry Advisory Board for 2005.
Annual Reports 2005 Using the Dynamic Model for Calculating Chill Accumulation in Bartlett Pear: Management of Dormant Sprays
Evaluation of effect of dormant oil treatment on fruit set and quality, and application of the Dynamic Model to calculate chill portions and evaluate the results with respect to bud break and flowering. Submitted to the California Pear Advisory Board for 2005.
