Fusarium Dieback/Tea Shot Hole Borer Workshop, May 8, 2012
Workshop to be held in South Gate, LA County
This workshop will focus on an exotic ambrosia beetle, Tea shot hole borer (Euwallacea fornicatus) known from various hosts (avocado, lychee, pomegranate, guava, citrus, mango, castor bean, box elder, acer, etc.). The beetle is vectoring a new very dangerous pathogen (Fusarium sp.) which was recently found infesting several backyard avocado trees (Hass, Bacon, Fuerte, Nabal) in residential neighborhoods of South Gate and Downey (Los Angeles Co.)
Who Should Attend
County Extension staff, Commodity Group Representatives, Pest Control Advisors, State and Federal Agencies and the general public are welcome to attend this meeting.
