Corridors Climate Change Workshop
Corridors for Climate Adaptation: Science and Practice Workshop
At the National Center for Ecological Analysis and Synthesis, UC Santa Barbara
November 9-10, 2016
This workshop is intended to engage a small group of scientists and practitioners working on connectivity projects in a participatory approach to a review of the theory, methods, and utility of migration corridors as an adaptation strategy to climate change in California. During the workshop we will 1) collect ongoing ways in which the participants are analyzing and approaching connectivity planning and implementation – what works and what doesn’t; 2) identify current approaches to implementing habitat connectivity on the ground, including case studies; 3) discuss barriers to implementation; and 4) hold break-out sessions to refine research approaches that will serve on the ground conservation efforts.
Thank you to our sponsors for making this workshop possible. These organizations recognize that future research, planning and policies will only lead to more resilient landscapes if we understand how corridors and other measures designed to enhance habitat connectivity are implemented on the ground.
