Placer County Fair may require youth entering show and/or market animals to complete a number of community service hours to ready the fair to open, enter an exhibit in Still Exhibits or other. Please contact Placer County Fair to inquire about specific requirements before registering.

All youth, (4-H, Grange, FFA, and Independent), are required to complete a record book in order to have a Livestock entry. 4-H members should complete their record books and turn them into their club leader by the requested date, usually April-May. Be sure to have your project leader(s) sign for each project you participated in.

Currently, the dress code for youth at the fair are "whites", white pants, white top. 4-H members are also required by the fair to wear a green 4-H hat and either green 4-H tie or scarf.  We have a variety of whites that have been donated available in the 4-H county office.  Sizes available are unknown, so please come in and check. Hats, ties, and scarves are available for purchase in the 4-H office.

JULY 06, 2019 7:00 to 11:00 AM- Sheep, Goat & Swine Weigh-In

 

Every year our 4-H members have the opportunity to participate in fair. There are many different ways that youth can participate at fair either through still exhibits, entering baked or canned goods, animal showmanship and market animals.  From 5 to 19 years old, 4-H members can have fun participating at our county and state fairs.

All youth members, age 9 years and older who will be showing and/ or selling animals at any fair in California must complete the YQCA Ethics course. 

Once you complete the age appropriate course, please print out your certificate and keep one copy in your fair binder or record book and submit a copy to the fair with your registration.
