The Youth Member enrollment fee is $66.00 for the 2021/22 year.
We welcome youth to join the 4-H program any time of the program year (July 01 to June 30). Most Club's in Placer County start meeting in September, with most project meetings starting in October, please check with your club to confirm their first meeting. Countywide events happen August through May.
In Placer County, if youth members, age 9 and over, intend to show or sell livestock at Placer County Fair, Gold Country Fair or represent Placer County 4-H at the State Fair Horse Shows, they must complete registration in their club and animal projects at 4hOnline and be an ACTIVE member by November 30 of the program year.
To be an active member, you must complete the following steps:
- Register in 4hOnline *Don't forget to update your project list.
- Attend your Club's Meeting.
- Pay your $66 membership fee (always ask for a receipt).
- Lastly, be sure to follow up by logging in to your 4hOnline account to confirm that your membership is active before the 11/30 deadline. If you are not active, contact your club volunteer enrollment coordinator.
New Youth Member
Process to become a new 4-H Youth Member
Choose a Club.
Choose a club in your area click here. You have to choose a minimum of one club when you sign up.
Contact the Club.
Contact the Club Leader or VEC (Volunteer Enrollment Coordinator) for the club you are interested in joining. The leader can also give you more information about the club and the types of projects offered.
Choose a Project.
The Club Leader can let you know what projects are open for enrollment. You can choose the projects and activities that sound interesting to you.
Sign up in 4hOnline.
Before attending your clubs first meeting create a family profile in 4hOnline. Members are grouped by Family, so you can add all youth family members who want to join 4-H. See instructions for New Member - How to enroll in 4hOnline
Submit program fees.
Submit your program fees payments to your Club VEC (Volunteer Enrollment Coordinator). They will log in to 4hOnline to confirm when payments are received so your enrollment can be processed.
After the county 4-H office reviews the enrollment you will receive an email sent to your Family email account to confirm your enrollment status as Active. Once your membership is active, you can start participating in 4-H events and activities! For youth members who reside in a different county than they participate in, you must complete a Request for 4-H Membership in a Neighboring County or State.
All 4-H members must re-enroll by November 30th each year.
Membership Renewal Process
Select the "Enroll for 2020-21" for the renewing member.
Update personal information.
Make sure all of your personal information is up to date, including email address. Email is the primary way you will receive communications outside of club and project meetings.
Health History form is now in 4hOnline. Please fill in completely - this can be accessed for participation in 4-H events and activities.
Update your 4-H participation.
Only select the club, projects, and groups that you will be participating in for the new year. Remove any clubs or projects that you will not be actively participating in. If youth reside in a different county than they participate in, the following needs to be filled out and submitted each program year: Request for 4-H Membership in a Neighboring County or State
Submit your program fees.
Your membership renewal is pending until your Club VEC confirms payment and your county 4-H office reviews that all renewal information and fees are submitted.
Check your Family email account for the confirmation that your renewal is active. Once your membership is active, you may participate in 4-H events and activities!
