Welcome to the 2020 Virtual Pumpkin Project hosted by the Kearney Agricultural Research and Extension center! To say we are “Pumped Up” would be an understatement. While things are up in the air for school districts everywhere, we at Kearney Outreach are determined to “make pumpkin pie out of pumpkins” and deliver an experience for students that is engaging, novel, and educational. We are super excited to participate with 4-H and Land Based-Learning and very grateful for our cooperators and the energy their students will bring. We also welcome anyone else that is interested to follow along as the project progresses here and on Instagram.
NEW addition: visit the Lessons page to see Cayci and Julie interview Sam from Dellavalle Laboratory. Also new, the Lessons dropdown menu where Lesson 3 material is up, including Soil Sam and The Mudshake Experiment.
Check out the NEW Teams pages in the top navigation bar and scroll through the teams with their awesome signs, detailed farm reports and crop photos.
***Also check out the Teams page and your team page for notes about work done to your plot, such as recent spray for aphids and P & K fertigation***
LOOK OUT BELOW! Videos from low flying drone are quite a sight. Go inspect your plots as a bumblebee might.
We hope you are as “pumped up” as we are and continue to support the young students who are the future of a healthy valley economy.
