Biography of Salman M.A. Salman

Dr. Salman M.A. Salman is an academic researcher and consultant on water law and policy. He is the Editor-in-Chief of Brill Research Perspectives in International Water Law; a Fellow with the International Water Resources Association (IWRA); and the former World Bank Adviser on Water Law.


Dr. Salman was the co-director of the Hague Academy of International Law, Centre for Research and Studies, 2001 session on “Water Resources and International Law.” He has assisted, and continues to assist, a number of universities around the world with teaching, supervising graduate students, and as an external examiner.


He is the co-recipient of the IWRA Crystal Drop Award 2017; and the recipient of two other IWRA awards for best papers published by IWRA journal “International Water Law.”  Dr. Salman graduated from the University of Khartoum Law School in Sudan, and holds an LL.M. and JSD from Yale Law School in New Haven, Connecticut, USA. He has published extensively on national and international water law and policy issues.
