2016 Workshop Series: Beekeeping in San Diego County

Raising bees is a fascinating, fun and rewarding endeavor
that many enjoy in their own backyards. However, it requires planning,
knowledge and a modest investment of time and money to be successful and safe.
In 2016, the University of California Cooperative Extension in San Diego offered a new workshop series on honey bees and beekeeping for new beekeepers and those considering beekeeping. This is a 3-session workshop series
providing information and hands-on exercises on how to become a beekeeper. Information was delivered from a cadre of apiary experts including University of California researchers, educational specialists, County of San Diego entomology and apiary inspection staff and experienced local beekeepers. Some of the information and resources shared during this workshop series are featured below.
