Community Nutrition & Health, UCCE Santa Clara County
CalFresh Healthy Living, UCCE provides nutrition education curricula and physical activity, youth leadership training, staff and parent training and technical support for qualifying pre-schools, schools and agencies.
Eating a balance diet is important to staying healthy. CalFresh Healthy Living, UCCE helps children and adults choose a healthy lifestyle by encouraging good food habits and decision making skills. As part of the UC Cooperative Extension, we're helping build and maintain healthy families and communities.
Improving the health of Californians is important to the future of California. A poor diet can lead to serious health problems. Although California grows the freshest fruits, vegetables and nuts in the country, many people don't eat enough of these nutritious foods.
Conditions are always changing, and the ability to adapt to change is a key to success for people, families, and communities. For more on the UC Cooperative Extension's impact visit UC Delivers

New Community Resources !!
We are excited to announce the release of the virtual Let’s Eat Healthy Nutrition Pathfinders curriculum for 4th and 5th-grade students! The virtual lessons were developed through a partnership between the Dairy Council of CA, Santa Clara County Public Health Department, and our UCCE program. Each lesson is in an asynchronous format and can easily be added to 100% virtual and hybrid lesson plans.

CFHL, UCCE developed a way to send taste tests home: via animated videos that provide nutrition information and encourage children to try new fruits and vegetables. This includes engaging flyers directly linked to a video, an activity, and key nutrition information, distributed to families at school meal sites. The flyers feature a fruit or vegetable provided with the school meal pickups.
