Top Plants For Sonoma County
Remove stems in winter at ground level.
Native to the California Coast Ranges, these plants are beautifully suited to our gardens, requiring minimal care. Tubular white to pale pink, magenta or lilac blooms cloak terminal and axillary spikes along upright stems of L. fragrans and L. hastata and the more rangy, arching stems of L. calycina. Leaves are lance- or arrow-shaped and emit a sagelike scent when brushed or bruised.
