4-C. Relationship Building
Collaborative Leadership and Communicating/Connecting ANR Programs with Youth
Who should attend: Academics and staff
Half of the session will focus on the best methods and strategies for working with and connecting ANR programs to today’s youth from a youth perspective. This will be a facilitated roundtable discussion with active 4-H teens. Discussions will include the best methods of communication when working with youth, adapting our communication tools to meet youth needs, building collaborative relationships with youth and working with youth as clientele and extenders of ANR Programs.
The other half of the session will be an active and interactive session to help individuals build their team leadership strategies. Working with colleagues and volunteers can often be challenging; clear communication and common goals are key to successful group work. In this session, participants will focus on determining and communicating group goals and expectations. Participants will work in groups to solve challenges as a team and then reflect as a group on strategies used and why they worked or did not work.
