Biography

Irene Padasas is the Community Nutrition and Health Advisor for UCCE Tulare, Kings, Fresno, and Madera Counties. Her current research and extension work is focused on social and cultural factors that shape health and wellbeing of underserved and low resourced population, particularly ethnic and migrant families. Padasas has also programmatic oversight function responsible for the consistent delivery of two federal nutrition programs in her four county assignments within the Central Valley Region - Calfresh Health Living, University of California and Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program. She has extensive experiences in Extension programming- conducting needs assessment, program development, testing/piloting, evaluation, and information dissemination. She earned a master's degree in Developmental Psychology from Ateneo de Manila University in the Philippines and her doctoral in Human Science with a specialization in Global Family Health and Wellbeing at the University of Nebraska.
