The Center for Natural Lands Management (CNLM) will be acquiring 25,000 acres of mitigation land in San Benito County's Panoche Valley and will be hiring 2 full-time preserve managers.

The San Joaquin kit fox, San Joaquin antelope squirrel, blunt-nosed leopard lizard, giant kangaroo rat, and California tiger salamander will be the focus of their conservation efforts. Since grazing will be an important activity on the property, one of the candidates will need to have a good background in range management. The preserve manager will be involved in developing a grazing plan, working with grazing lessees, performing residual dry matter, small mammal, and shrub monitoring, and enhancing shrubland habitat, among many other activities.

July 8 is listed as the application deadline. However, they will be accepting applications after that date. The CNLM hopes the preserve managers will start work in early fall. If you or someone you know are interested in the position, you can submit an application to careers-pm@cnlm.org.
