The Ventura County Fair invites students to earn free carnival rides through their reading program. “Read & Ride” is for local kindergarten through 8th grade students. Students are encouraged to read books, write book reports and earn carnival ride passes for the 2011 Fair to be held August 3rd through August 14th.
Ventura County Fair officials look forward to encouraging and rewarding students who value reading. They are offering three ride tickets for two books read for a maximum of six ride tickets for four books read by Ventura County students
These book reports will be in binders on display in the Youth Building. Students are asked to write a brief summary, approximately 25 words, of the books they read. Children age six and under are welcome to draw a picture to illustrate the books’ content.
Reports must be signed by a teacher or parent. The submission deadline is July 15, 2011. Tickets will be mailed at the end of July. Please be sure to include student’s home address for mailing. For additional information, please call (805) 648-3376 Ext. 100.
