Gardens of the Central Valley
Clovis Botanical Garden is the only botanical garden in the San Joaquin Valley. This one-acre water-wise demo garden showcases beautiful plants and landscapes appropriate for the hot summers and cool winters of California’s Central Valley. Enjoy lunch at the home and garden of one of our own Fresno Master Gardeners. The Forestiere Underground Gardens is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Explore the underground maze of rooms and passageways reminiscent of ancient catacombs, carved out of hard-pan. See unique fruit producing trees, shrubs, and vines growing underground – some over 90 years old.

Loofa Farm & Mount Bullion Vineyard


The loofa is a member of the cucurbitaceae family. Contrary to popular belief, loofas grow on a vine, not in the ocean.  Our tour is a week prior to harvest.  All products are grown and crafted on site. At Mt. Bullion Vineyard, grapes are grown, fermented, barreled and aged, bottled and cellared. A visit to the winery is by appointment only. Lunch is provided.

Madera Wine Trail

Discover Madera’s wine heritage - the wine industry's best kept secret! Visit the wineries making award-winning wines just south of Yosemite National Park. Madera County has a long tradition of producing wine and is one of the oldest grape growing regions in North America. Guests visiting the Madera Wine Trail reap the benefits of the region’s rich history, knowledgeable staff, and tasting rooms that are still small enough where you can speak to the winemakers themselves. Wineries include: Ficklin Vineyards,Birdstone, Cru, and Idle Hour Winery. Lunch prepared by local restaurant, The Vineyard – and included in tour pricing.

Historical Tour A

Visit Mariposa’s History Museum where you will see many artifacts from the Gold Rush of the 1850’s, including the Counts house, a working stamp mill, the Charlie letters and Miwok Indian artifacts.  All guides at each site will be dressed in period attire. Tour the grounds of the oldest courthouse still in use west of the Rocky Mountains and the old stone jailhouse. Walk through historic downtown Mariposa, which offers there great shopping.  Tour ends at the Mariposa Creek Garden, created and maintained by Mariposa Master Gardeners.  The creek parkway features California native plants exclusively.  A beautiful, illustrated native plant booklet will be provided free to all attendees.  A boxed lunch is included.

Historical Tour B

Visit the only California State Mining and Mineral Museum, a state park where you will enjoy learning about the geological bounty of California.  Located in Mariposa, the museum includes a replica of a real mine, an assay office and many beautiful gems and minerals.  Tour the grounds of the oldest courthouse still in use west of the Rocky Mountains and the old stone jailhouse. A walk of downtown Mariposa area includes great shopping as well as many beautiful historic buildings.  We will end the tour at the Mariposa Creek Garden, featuring native plants exclusively.  The garden was created by and is maintained by the Mariposa County Master Gardeners. A beautiful, illustrated native plant booklet will be provided free to all attendees.   A box lunch is included.

Cowboy Dinner, Train Ride & Campfire

All Aboard! An exciting four mile railroad excursion at Yosemite Park’s South gate on Highway 41. Ride into history where powerful locomotives once hauled massive log trains through the Sierra Mountains and where mighty lumberjacks felled the timber and flumes carried the lumber to the distant valley below. The Sierra National Forest’s majestic woods provide the backdrop for this narrow gauge journey back in time.  You can look to the past! A New York steak, chicken or vegetarian dinner with all the fixins’ is included in the price, no host bar available. Enjoy a campfire under the stars while you listen to the guide tell stories of times past.

Full-Day Yosemite Tour

 Half Dome – El Capitan – Yosemite Falls – Bridalveil Fall – Mariposa Grove – Three Brothers – Leaning Tower – Glacier Point – Wawona – Cathedral Spires – Royal Arches – Turtleback Dome – Vernal and Nevada Falls.   Pricing includes all park entry fees, a California Naturalist/Guide, lunch and water are included.  Gratuities not included.
