The Science and Practice of Stress Proofing Your Brain

 

 

How does stress affect your brain? How can we develop techniques to build a "better" more resilient brain?

This program, led by Julie Fetherstone of Devi Yoga takes yoga, psychology and integrates research from interpersonal neurobiology to create simple, effective, evidence-based practices to reduce stress immediately, while creating new neural networks for increased resiliency over time.

We will begin the day with a walk in the calming and stunningly beautiful landscape of the UC Hopland Research and Extension Center, led by Director Dr. Kim Rodrigues.

A catered lunch will be provided to complement the health benefits we will be learning about during the day.

Directions:  From downtown Hopland (intersection of Highways 101 and 175), take Highway 175 east toward Lakeport. Cross the Russian River and at the traffic circle take the second exit onto Old River Road (also marked "Road 201"). Next, turn right onto University Road (there is a UC sign at the intersection). Drive up University Road for approximately 3.5 miles, you will see signs for Rod Shippey Hall parking.
